yelaklleps asked:
I have written a lengthy children’s poem which I want to publish as a children’s book. The poem is full of brand names and trademaks and such. What is the legality of publishing such a work? What kind of permission would I need? My book may never get published, but I want to try and I want to do it right without getting sued! Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I would come up with brand names that remind you of those brands so you dont have to worry about it. Otherwise, try and get in contact with the companies involved
Unless you are making adverse claims against the brand, (like a certain brand of cigarettes makes you fat.) I don’t think you have to worry. Your publisher’s legal department (when you get a good publisher) will check all of this for you. I would suggest you follow their advice.
Good luck to you.
